Site Redesign (2021)

In 2021 the folks over at Microsoft hired an external agency to come up with a new digital visual identity for the new operating system (OS). What they came up with was a grid of basic shapes in traditional Microsoft colors: circle, half circle, quarter circle, square, half square (rectangle), and right triangle.

My team and I took these elements and converted them for web usage. Down below the site comp is one of many case studies on how we could use these elements within their own web framework (MWF).

As I got more familiar with the elements, I began to play more with their arrangements, split grids, and layering. This was necessary to keep things from becoming too rigid.

Overall, it was a fun project to try to break free of the limits to come up with something new and fresh.
